ADULT DANCE FITNESS CLASSES REIGATE

ADULT DANCE: ages 18 - 98

Reigate Dance Centre offers adult dance and fitness classes for all ages and abilities - it's time we adults had some "ME TIME" as well. We currently have 2 adult ballet classes and 2 dance fitness classes per week. They concentrate on making dance interesting while adding some artistry into the classes, and of course keeping you fit and healthy!

DANCE FITNESS CLASSES REIGATE

Our Adult Dance Fitness (DANCE-EX) classes focus on working the core, leg and arm muscles and increase aerobic activity. Suitable for beginners as well as seasoned fitness individuals, this fun class introduces many styles of dance to workout each muscle group. 

As many styles of dance and music are incorporated, the routines change frequently, keeping your mind active as well as your body. Great fun with our fantastic teacher Michelle.

DAY: Mondays

ADULT BALLET CLASSES REIGATE

Beginners

Our Adult Beginner Ballet class is a rewarding class, which will develop your core strength, your poise and posture - you will find you have grown a few cm's as a result of lifting the body. 

The class is led by Rachael, who was trained as a professional ballerina at the Royal Ballet School in Richmond. Rachael keeps the classes light and fun, and will gently stretch you into place, with a little artistry. Strengthens, flexes, stretches and improves posture.

DAY: Thursdays

TIME: 7.30 - 8.30pm

ADULT BALLET CLASSES REIGATE

Intermediate

Our Intermediate classes are for those who have danced previously and who would like to keep in shape and continue their love of ballet. 

The class is led by Rachael, who is trained as a professional ballerina at the Royal Ballet School in Richmond. Rachael keeps the classes light and fun, and will gently stretch you into place, with artistry.  Strengthens, flexes, stretches and improves posture.

PILOXING CLASSES REIGATE

Piloxing is a mixture of pilates, boxing and dance, and is a complete workout. The fusion between the 3 disciplines means that this non-stop weekly workout is great to let out some energy, burn calories and build muscle. Led by our qualified Piloxing instructor and Royal Ballet trained dancer.

THE BENEFITS OF DANCE CLASSES for ADULTS (as well as children)

Firstly, it gives the brain a "youth makeover". Recent scientific studies show dance is "unusually beneficial". As well as being physically active, dance classes require individuals to learn to multitask - learning a sequence of steps, memorise the order, and execute them in time with the music. A recent BBC programme highlighted the real benefit of dance classes, by analyzing their base level of intelligence and reflexes. A series of tests monitored decision-making, working memory and judge how quick objects move through the air. 

The same tests were made immediately after participants completed a dance class, and tests improved in all areas by up to 18%. This was after 1 dance class!! Dance proves to reach the other parts other exercises cannot reach - ie the brain. And as steps are updated and developed, people are always challenged by the varying routines on offer, increasing mental awareness and capacity. 

Our teachers make you feel at home, so any initial apprehensions soon disappear, and you will find yourselves immersed in a fun activity that benefits MIND and BODY in a FUN ENVIRONMENT.
