DANCE CLASSES in REIGATE

INTRODUCTION

Reigate Dance Centre offers a great start for children to start dance, singing and acting, in a supportive  environment. Reigate Dance Centre is part of the RSB Dance Schools which is a family run business that has pioneered dance training in the area, and maintaining our key ethos - "everyone should have the chance to dance". We offer a balance between having loads of fun (yes the teachers do to), and learning to dance without compromising on quality. Our teachers are here to inspire your children, and all of us at Reigate Dance Centre believe in offering opportunities for children of all ages, and developing their confidence. Our aim is to encourage and ensure children enjoy dancing with an aim to improving themselves in a supportive environment. We have been nurturing young talent for so many years, and we ensure we have the best teachers to train and motivate the talents of today in a non-competitive environment. Exams can be taken but only if children (and parents) wish to.

We're not a school that pretends to offer everything and diversify into yoga, pilates or wellbeing. We simply offer quality dance training for children who either want to dance once a week as a hobby, or for those who want to live and breath it. Whatever your interest is in dance, our dance school has something to offer, with equality throughout and so many opportunities to perform.

A (very) BRIEF HISTORY

Reigate Dance Centre started as The Reigate School of Modern Theatre Dance under the direction Miss Nikki Owen. When Miss Owen retired, the school was taken over by Joanne Evans under the RSB Dance schools umbrella. Reigate Dance Centre is now the commercial division of the Reigate School of Ballet, and both schools now operate closely together with the same quality teachers. The new name now clarifies that Reigate leading dance schools have an exceptionally strong history in theatre dance, commercial dance such as street and television and pop style dancing.

TREND SETTERS / AWARD WINNING

RSB Dance schools were the first in the area to offer all styles of dance tuition, using professional performers and qualified teachers, dance workshops, and performing-based Summer Schools. Over the years, like our classes, we continuously evolve our teaching methods in line with current trends whilst maintaining a 'fun comes first' ethos. Secondly, RSB have been awarded Dance School of the Year 2018 throughout the UK - an award in which we are honoured to receive and shows the talent of teaching staff present at the school.

TEACHERS

Firstly, our team of teachers have been awarded the dance team of the year in the UK, and we are thrilled! They inspire children to reach their full potential and achieve their personal goals, and they do this through hard work to ensure all children enjoy and relish their dance and performing arts classes. We currently have ten teachers who are highly qualified with the 'Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing'  - one of the main and most established dance boards in the country and who are internationally recognised. Many of our staff have had careers as professional commercial and classical performers, and we believe this is important to pass on to children. Performances include pop vidoes, commercial TV, West End Musicals, teaching at leading theatrical schools such as Arts Educational School etc.

Reigate Dance Centre teaches dance in various locations in and around Reigate, Redhill and Merstham, and the RSB Dance Schools stretch as far as Dorking also.

With well over 55 years experience in teaching children, our dance school has expanded and developed with the industry, and we are a constantly evolving establishment so that children receive the core skills while having plenty of fun while learning the most current dance routines and core training.

PERFORMING ARTS CLASSES in REIGATE

Reigate Dance Centre is a creative avenue for children to feel safe, have fun and learn to achieve their best in dance, drama and singing. We fuel their imagination, while teaching them the real skills needed to perform. We firmly believe that children who enjoy themselves will naturally learn better, and nurture their confidence, which in turn will gain them skills for life. Learning these skills through dance, singing and acting are one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences for children to grow. Our performing arts classes (Reigate) are based in Reigate, and offer comprehensive term-time courses as well as workshops and summer schools, at extremely reasonable prices. We really think quality training shouldn't cost a huge amount of money, and our theatrical experience in the West End, nationally and internationally earn us a real respect in the area.

Performing opportunities

As well as providing excellent tuition, we also have a large avenue for pupils to perform as well. Past performing venues include:

Parties

We do many private dance parties for children, whether they are birthday parties, specific events or celebrations. We come to your venue and organise a unique themed dance party based on your chosen music and theme. These prove to be very popular indeed! Parties start from £70. Workshops and Summer Schools

We started arranging dance summer schools in Reigate before anyone else and we are extremely proud to have invited children of all ages to our specific workshops and summer schools. For more info, please see our HOLIDAY COURSES page.

Family

We believe that being a part of Reigate Dance Centre is being a part of a large family. With so much going on at our school, from classes, workshops, theatre trips, onsie movie nights, performances etc. many of our children feel that they have made so many new and like-minded friends at Reigate Dance.
