Reigate Dance Centre provides toddlers and pre-school children with the perfect start to dance through music and movement, singing, mime and interpreting music in a fun and nurturing environment.
Whether you want the freedom of dancing freestyle with simple routines to pop a musical theatre music, or through the magical world of ballet, introducing mime and early basic steps, all classes provide children with improved co-ordination, balance and physical / mental ability. All classes are taught by the RSB team of teachers (winners of the UK 'Dance School of the Year 2018' awards.
Listening and reacting to music at this young age is a brilliant source of early child development - and it's also FUN!

We have the following classes available for children from 18 months to 4 years. We also have the depth of established classes for when they get older in all styles of dance.
ToddleR & PRE-SCHOOL DANCE
Ages 18 months - 3 yrs
We have many toddler dance classes available throughout the week in Reigate, Redhill & Merstham. Whichever class you choose, they all offer a great stimulus for children to open their imaginations and react creatively to music, and increasing their co-ordination.

We have 4 styles of classes for this age group:

DANCE BABES (18 months to 3 yrs)
Dance Babes offers fun, much use of imagination and plenty of co-ordinated movement to music. Using the basics of ballet with much drama and mime to music, the classes are based around ballet but features many creative movements / action songs / role play which helps children to develop their coordination for when they get older, as well as social and motor skills and learning to interpret music through the body. Parents accompany the children in these classes, which means you can take the routines home.

Classes are on Fridays at 10.00am at the Reigate Community Centre.

SPARKLE BALLET (ages 2.5 - 4 yrs)
Sparkle Ballet is our own toddler programme devised over many years by our experienced dance staff (the dance team responsible for UK 'Dance School of the Year 2018') for children who love ballet. These classes are ideal for those who want to continue to dance when they get older.

babyballet® "TINIES" (18 months to 3 yrs)
babyballet is an award willing programme that brings the magical world of ballet to children. This class introduces ballet through music and movement. They develop their physical and communication skills in this stimulating and imaginative environment. Parents are very much involved in the class.

SPARKLE BALLET (ages 2.5 - 4 yrs)
Sparkle Ballet is our own toddler programme devised over many years by our experienced dance staff (the dance team responsible for UK 'Dance School of the Year 2018') for children who love to dance. Sparkle Ballet teaches the basic balletic movements alongside fun, imaginative, coordinated movement and confidence building role-play. Beautiful dancing and stories.

STARLIGHT TOTS (ages 3 - 4 yrs)
Starlight TOTS is a class that combines singing, dancing and drama for toddler. Led by our experienced Starlight Musical Theatre teachers who teach on Saturday mornings for our older children, this class is an energetic combination of:

SINGING - traditional, musical theatre and up-tempo current songs, with actions to begin rhythm awareness

DANCING - carefully chosen steps to increase motor skills and co-ordination, with great interaction

DRAMA - children love role play, and our action games and routines will increase their confidence and imagination​

FAQ - Toddler Dance Classes
What is the difference between Sparkle Ballet, Dance Babes and babyballet?
Sparkle Ballet and Dance Babes are Reigate Dance Centre's uniquely designed classes after years and years of teaching this age group. Sparkle Ballet is for ages 18 months - 3 years, while Dance Babes is designed for ages 3 - 4. Babyballet® is an award-winning programme that teaches toddlers throughout the UK. Reigate Dance Centre (along with the Reigate School of Ballet) are the only official award winning babyballet® classes in the area (please look out for the registered symbol (®).
All classes are taught by our highly qualified dance teachers who also teach our senior pupils - a seamless transition for when they reach age 5 and over. All classes offer a perfect introduction of mime, props, a variety of music and encourages creative movement, balance and coordination, so that they can progress to other dance styles if they wish, and whichever class you choose will be dependent on the day(s) you can attend. At what age can my child start dancing classes?
Children can start from as early as 6 months, but most of our classes either start from 18 months or the 3 - 4 age groups.

Are your dance teachers highly trained?
Whether the children are 3, 13 or older, we have a fantastic core team of highly qualified dance teachers with oodles of experience to develop each child's needs.

What are the fees?
Classes start from £58.50 per term (30 min classes). Babyballet classes cost a little more but the terms are longer. Please call us on 01737 247795 for more details or email us.
Do you offer free trial classes?
Yes we do**. Reigate Dance Centre offers 3 free trial classes all year round. There is no catch! We want our children (and parents) to be happy before any commitment is made, and we find parents really appreciate having this time to choose.

Is there a uniform?
There is a uniform, but we will only ask for you to buy this once your 3 trials have ended. We will advise on this.
