STREET DANCE CLASSES REIGATE

Street Dance classes in Reigate / Redhill

Reigate Dance Centre teaches street dance classes to children and teenagers from the ages or 4 to 18. We teach the most current and commercial street styles seen in today's music videos, and we believe the style should be led by those already in the industry, so that pupils get the most up to date choreography in this ever-changing style. Our teachers are performers in their own right and this provides inspiration to the children in classes every week. We also have commercial street dance workshops from visiting performers sot hat children get the opportunity to try different styles.

Street Dance is ideal for those wishing to follow the non-syllabus dance route, for children who wish to add another style to their dance classes ('urbanize' their dancing), and for those wishing to solely learn street and industrial styles. Our street dance lessons are extremely popular, and they fall into age-specific groups:

MINI STREET DANCE: ages 4 (reception - 7)

JUNIOR STREET DANCE: ages 8 - 10

SENIOR STREET DANCE: ages 11 - 14

STUDENT STREET DANCE: ages 15 - Adult

Street dance is a fusion of many commercial styles, originally conceived outside the constraints of formal dance classes. It's great fun and is danced to urban popular music.

Reigate Dance Centre begins street at an early age where children are taught to lock their bodies and co-ordinate their bodies with the most common elementary moves. Then, as the music becomes more urban, a greater focus on maturity is developed.

FAQ

Where are Reigate Dance Centre Street Dance classes held?

Most of our Street Dance classes are held at the Colman Redland Centre, Croydon Rd. Reigate on Mondays or Wednesdays. We also have additional classes on Saturdays at Sandcross School, Sandcross Lane, Reigate RH2 8HH.

At what age can my child start Street dancing classes?

Street Dance classes start from the ages of 4 (reception) up to young adult age. We don't recommend starting any younger as children are still learning to physically control their bodies. We have toddler classes for younger children which develops balance, co-ordination, and patterning/sequencing to prepare them when they get older.

Are your dance teachers highly trained?

Our staff have a mix of highly qualified teachers and teachers who have much commercial dance experience. One of our teachers still performs which enables our pupils to receive current and fresh choreography in their classes.

Do you offer free trial classes?

Yes we do. Since the school began, Reigate Dance Centre offers 2 free trial classes all year round. There is no catch! We want our children (and parents) to be happy before any commitment is made, and we find parents really appreciate having this time to choose.
